NEW BUILDINGS
PROGRESS OF TOROA STREET JOB The two buildings in course of erec tion on opposite sections in Torjn Street are now well advanced and both have been roofed. The store, which is being built for the lines staff of the Post Telegraph Department, junv-has its iron roof on and workmen-^are engaged in 'subdividing' the interior and doing other carpentry work. It is a reinforced concrete half of which is a garage which is fronted by a concrete yard for truck washing The tiled roof has been placed on the residential quarters of the new police station which stands behind the old combined residence and office block. The new offices flank the foat path and alongside is a concrete garage. The office and garage block is roofed in galvanised iron and the tar paper is now being placed on the walls in readiness for the plaster. The new cells have not yet been, commenced. They will be 90 feet awsy from the living quarters. Boon, Sullivan, Luke Ltd are the contractors for both jobs.
