O— Messrs G. Painter and A. Douglas of Te A roll a, were visitors to Wha. katane over the week-end, when they took the opportunity of inspecting town and district. Both gentlemen declare that they have been 'surprised at the size and extent of the business section, while they consider Ohope Beach as one of the finest assets a town could have. Madame De Gu'se Rousell, of Abbyville Stud Farm, Nixon Road, Mangere, has been a guest at the Com mercial Hotel Whakatane, over the week-end. Madame Rousell has been visiting the district in connection with the rcccnt clearance sale of Air T. W. War.Haw's Waimana where •5 she made several important purchases. Mr Arbutt and Mr R. L. Innis, Chief Land Drainage Engineer, Auckland, are guests a,t the Commercial Hotel. Guests at the Whakatane Hotel include: Mr J. Kelly. Mr Bruce Mr W. W. Coibett, Mr K. A.
