ROTORUA'S REQUEST FOR GAME DECLINED The executive of the Whakatane Rugby Sub-union at its meeting at Tancatuii on Tuesday decided to advise Rotorua that it would be impossible to play .a. senior representative match at Rotorua on the Kind's Birthday as Opotiki would probuMy j)]ay at Whakatane on that date. The Mr W. S. Hcndcr_ son, said Mr W. Burrett had told him that his team was anxious to play at Whakatane though 'there had been no official acceptance so far. It was decided to communicate by telephone with Rotorua and toll them that the game could not be arranged. '*■■■ The matter of fixing a dalte for a game with Te Puke was left till later in the season. It was also decided to endeavorx to get the Opotiki junior representatives over here to play a. curtain raiser wiith the Whakatane junior representatives. If Opotiki cannot travel an effort Avill be made to get the Rangitaiki juniors here. Rotorua also asked for a junior match at Rotorua on King's Birthday, but it was necessary Ito decline this.
