WHAKATANE BOROUGH SANITATION AND HARBOUR BOARD LEVIES ALSO The Whakatane Borough Council is levying a consolidated rate of Is -Id in the pound this year in lieu of the general ravtc of 6.5 d, the hospi, tal and charitable aid rate of 1.75 d, the street lighting rate of .sd, and special rates of 7.25 dto provide sinking fund and interest on conversion loans. There will also be a sanitation levy of £1 19s per pan. The council will also collect the. Whakatane Harbour Board special rate of 3_4d' to provide interest and sinking fund on the conversion loan of £65,300. The rates are due on May 26, 193*\ and a, penalty of ten per cent will bo added to rates unpaid after sixmonths and 1-1 clays from It his date. The. valuation roll a,nd estimates fori the current hnancial year are now open for inspection at the office of the council and may be seen until May 2!5.
