BADMINTON SEASON

THE WHAKATANE CLUB

The opening of the 1939 season of the Whakatane Badminton season was lield on April 18 in the King Street Hall before a large attendance of both old and new players. In declaring the season, open, the President, Mr J.' Bigelow, t stated, that the previous year had been very successful from a financial and sporting point of view and that with the evet increasing popularity of Badminton everywhere he was sure that' the club would enjoy even greater success this year. A number of friendly' games were played, wjiere' possible the visitors being given preference. During the evening a, very dainty supper was provided by the ladies of the club.
