Yesterday morning, wliile burning rubbish in a copper fire at her home, Harris Street, Te Puke, Mrs D. Pound received severe burns to her face, hands and legs.

Mrs Pound had been washing and was burning some rubbish in the copper fire, when the flames suddenly shot out and set alight to her clothes. She called for assistance, but before the burning dress could be removed, Mrs Pound was severely burned. She was taken '(through to Tanranga Hospital, where on ii. cjuiries this morning, her condition was reported as satisfactory. FELL FROM TRUCK TE PUKE BOY HURT As a result of a fall from the back of a motor truck yesterday morning concussion and head injuries were received by Len Pevreal, Papamoa. The lad was attended to by Dr L. Randell, Te Puke, and after a num. ber of stitches had been inserted in a severe cult on the boy's head, lie was able to return home. AFFECTED BY BLINDNESS Sheep in the Kai Iwi district are being ail'ectcd by blindness, which lasts for a period of between six and eight days, according to a Wuititara County farmer. He said that breeding ewes are mostly affected. The sheep had difficulty in feeding, and were often found at the bottom of gorges and cliffs, having lost their wav.
