AN OUTSTANDING PIG
o— HAWKJE'S BAY IMPORTATION Purchased at a high price from the leading Large White pig breeding establishment in the Old Country, that of the late Lord Deresbury, who died .recently, an outstanding boar has arrived at the Waiohiki farm of Mr B. Haynes. Titled, Walton King David loath, the iboar is one of the best produced by the Walton Hall stud, and prior to shipment was awarded fifth place at the last Royal Agricultural Society's Show, the largest show of its kind in the world. On that occasion there were 36 entries and the judge commented that it was only with extreme difficulty that he was able to differentiate between the first six pigs that had been placed. Following this achievement, the boar was awarded second place at the Great Yorkshire Show and first place at the Royal Lancashire Show. On the last named occasion the pig which was placed first at the Royal Show was placed s&cond to the boar which *as now been imported to improve the standard of pigs in Hawke's Bay. Included in the same herd as that from which this boar came, is Wait-on Lassie 112 th, which was awarded first] female champion and supreme champion at the Royal.
