AMBULANCE GRANT
o COUNTY COUNCIL'S VIEW "I would like to know t'le feelings of the county council about the free ! ambulance,'* said Cr L. W. Lux ton it Monday's meeting of the Whaka_ tane County Council. He said that ( at a meeting of the ambulance committee statements had been made ] that the council was doing nothing, and he sought the council's opinion. Cr Wardlaw said his idea was that as the council now practically sup. 1 plied a free hosp'tal it was hard that they should be asked to do « much more. Cr J. G. Cliff M'-Cnlloch said that the council had already a big bill to meet for the hospital, and he was inclined to think that the county councillors would not view further expenditure with favour.
