ANNUAL MEETING
HEADQUARTERS UNCHANGED
All sub.unions were represented at! the annua] meeting of the Bay of Plenty Rugby Union in Whakatane last Saturday afternoon,. The mairi business of the day was a discussiori on the Te> Hurinui Apanui Shield* which has been handed back to the Union by the Rangitaiki Sub-Union, holders for several years, in order, that the Rangitaiki team could con* centrate on club football for a season. . After a proposal by the Te Pulte representatives that the shield 1)C played for in a zoned competition it was deeided that the first hold®? should be drawn for and Apanui, first challengers under the old were selected. Tke order of challenge will be Tauranga, Galatea, Te Puke, Whakatane, Opotiki, Rotorua, Rangitaiki. Officeholders were chosen as l lows: Mr F. J. Burt; vicepatron, Mr il Clarke: president, Mr W. Barrett; vice-presidents presidents of all sub-unions; secretary, treasurer, Mr W., S. Henderson: auditor, Mr J. A. Ruddy; executive, Messrs Guinness, Spratt, F. J. Burt, G. Peebles; Maori representative, Mr T. Anderson: selectors, Mr L. Clarke Mr A. Spratt, Mr G. Peebles; resident delegate to N.Z.. Union, Mr Ned ParataJ delegates to the N. Z. Rugby Union annual meeting Mr Guinness* Mr W. S. Henderson. The appointment of a representative to the Referees' Appointment Board was left in the hands of the Bay of Plenty Referees' Association.
