A COUNCILLOR'S DOUBTS An application from Mr H. Carr for permission to hold first aid clashes in the borough chambers each Tuesday night was granted by the Whakatane Borough Council last Monday night. "They won't do any damage to the council chambers. There*l] be no hooliganism. A doctor Avill be in charge"' said Cr A. J. Canning in supporting the request. The council roared when Cr W. Sullivan mournfully and rdhiinls. | cently doubted whether that would altogether be a guarantee of peace.
