Wednesday, May 10, 1876. (Before H..W. Brabant, Esq., 8.M.). Thomas Wrigley v. Ross : Claim £3 14s. No appearance of the plaintiff. . Case struck out. Jonathan Brown v. Hira : Claim £2 155.. Settled out of Court. Jacobsohn v. Griffiths : Claim
£12 lGs. -id., amount of dishonored promissory note. The defendant didnot appear. Judgment for plantiff, with costs 19s. Diu-aiid v. Hart: Claim £101 3s. Cd., amount of n judgment summons. There was no appearance of defondant. ■ . The plaintiff deposed as to the ability of the defendant to pay the debt. He had seen the defendant with plenty of money ; an offer had been made to him that the debt should be paid by monthly instalments of £2,^ which, however, he did not feel inclined to accept. The Court ordered that the defendant pay the amount of the judgment summons and costs, and interest at 5 per cent to date of payment within 21 days, or in default, bo imprisoned for two calendar months. The Court informed the plaintiff, however, that such imprisonment would be at his expense. Tadhunter v. J. Keefe : Claim £4 4s. No appearance of the defendant. Judgment given for plain- j tiff for full amount, and costs 9s. Boss v. W. Kelly: This was to have been a rehearing of the case on the application of the defendant, who did not, however, put in an appearance, but applied to the Court in writing for an adjournment, to which the plaintiff objected. The case was dismissed by the Court, as the defendant had not appeared. The original case, which was for a claim of £11 for removing a building, was given against the defendant.
