His- Excellency the Governor left Ohinenmtu on Saturday morning via • Orakei Korako en route to Taupo and Napier. His Excellency • much enjoyed his trip to the terraces, although the weather was- not' as fine as could have heen wished. At "Wairoa, ,Tara— werai take, His Excellency honored Captain and Mrs Way with his company, and slept the night at their picturesque residence,- Te Mil. His Excellency, was- well received every..where by both Europeans and Natives-. While at Ohinemutu, His Excellency and suite stayed at Mr Wilson's Ohinemutu Hotel, where he met with every civility and comfort,. and great praise is due both to Mr - and Mrs : Wilson for the manner in which they • conducted their hotel during His Excellency's sojourn. . . On leaving - Ohinemutuy His" Excellency was pleased to express his sense of the* attention shown him at the Ohine--mutu. Hotel-' His Excellency will., leave Taupo to-day, arrive at Napier-to-morrow (30th),' remaining- thereuntil Monday, the 3rd proximo, on which day he purposes leaving in the • Government steamer Luna,, en. route. to>

Auckland j calling at White Island, and Tauranga. His Excellencj^s stay here will probably not exceed a couple of hours or so. He will take the opportunity of- inspecting the Cemetery and the site of the old Gate Pah. We' think- it desirable -that an address of welcome should be drawn up, and read to him on his landing by the Chairman of the ■ Towm Board ; as, although Has Excellency's visit is entirely of a private nature, it is but due to the high office he fills, that on this his first appearance amongsf us, some respect be shown him. Tauranga never was backward in-these matters, and we feel sure tliat> it will not prove itself so next Wednesday.-
