DEVONPOBT EOAD PATHWAY, Mr Conway proposed that the Engineer be instructed to measure off one hundred yards on the Devonport Road pathway in the vicinity of Fifth Avenue, with a view to widen* ing the footpath about three feet. The pro* position was carried. MAINTENANCE OF DEVONPfIET EOAD AtfD CAMBEON EOAD. It was decided that no tenders should be called for this work, but the Engineer should employ day labour when requisite. EEPAIB OF THE WHABP. It having been brought to the notice of the Board that some of the stringers to the wharf were rotten, and as it ia necessary U put the wharf in thorough repair before handing it over to the new lessee, it was decided that the Engineer should be instructed to report upon the matter. EXTIHBION OP WHABP AND EBBCTIOH OP COAL BUT. The Chairman read a letter from Captain Sellars on behalf of himself and the owners of the Bowena, offering to advance £IOO at 10 per cent interest for the extension of the wharf and the ereetion of a coal bin. Their offer being to pay 20 per cent on tho total outlay for the use of the ooal bin, which should fee let for a term feo be agreed upon, A proposition that the Chairman and Mr Firth Wrigley be deputed to make all necessary ar' rangement between t-ie Foard and the Agenti of the steamer was carried. It was further decided that the necessary outlay should be made a charge against the wharf revenues. A few accounts were passed for payment and the Board adjourned. would draw attention to the advertise, ment of the Park Hotel in Auckland by Mr George Avey, the proprietor. The hotel has quite recently been completed, and from the care taken in its interior arrangements, it will doubtless be found' a comfortable place to sojourn at by any visitors going to Auckland.
