KAIMAI GOLD PROSPECTING.

Mr. A. AVarbrtck has kindly handed ns for publication the following telegram received by him from Mr Warden Eraser, relative to Mr White’s application for permission to prospect the Kaimai country:— “ Graliamstown, “October 30, 1875, " To A. Warbriok, Esq, “ I have received a telegram from the Superintendent, approving of a prospecting license for Kaimai to White, lie is at present ill, but hopes to he well enough to start on Sir George Grey’s return.” “W. Eraser, AVarden.” AVo are informed by Air Kelly, M.H.R., that on receipt of the information acquainting Sir George Grey, the Superintendent, with the decision come to by the Ngaetirangi Chiefs to permit a prospecting party to search the district of Kaimai, and of their urgent wish that he would use his influence with the venerable Chief Hori Tupaea, who for sometime past has been the guest of Sir Donald McLean at AA r ellington, but who happened at the time to be at Otaki settlement some distance up the Straits, he at once placed himself in communication with Tupaea, and succeeded in obtaining his consent, and also promised that he would ask Sir Donald McLean to permit him, with as little delay as possible to return to this district, in order to. facilitate the effectual prospecting of the Kaimai block.
