COMMERCIAL.
Bay of Plenty Times Office, Friday afternoon. Mr J. Bodell, auctioneer, laud agent, Ac., reports as follows;—During the month of {September X have had numerous enquiries for good dairy cattle ; I have sold milch cows from £7 to £lO ; heifers ami steers, two and three years, £4 to £6 10s. ; demand for store cattle limited. Horses —Heavy and light draught,, plough, horses and good hacks in demand ; good heavy draught, £3O to £45; light draught, £lO to £25 ; plough horses, £l4 to £24; hacks, £5 to £l2. Potatoes and maize in demand at fair prices. Land—Several farm sections changed hands at 20s. to 30s. per acre; inquirers for 100 to 300 acre farms; several farms of 100 to 600 acres adjacent to the town ofTauranga under inspection pending negotiation. At Mr Jordan’s sale of potatoes on Wednesday morning last there was a considerable attendance. A large quantity of potatoes was disposed of, and satisfactory prices realised. It will bo seen by reference to Messrs Thornton, Smith,, and Firth’s advertisement of prices current,, that there is a further advance of 10s per ton on flour all round.
