We regret to learn that Mr Peter Grant fell off his horse and broke his leg again yesterday. The tender of Mr John Stewart for repairing the Tauranga wharf was accepted by the Town Board at the usual fortnightly meeting held on Thursday last. A report of the full proceedings of that meeting is in type, and shall appear Tu next issue. The Librarian of the Mechanics’ Institute begs to acknowledge with thanks a donation of £5 to the funds of the Institute by a friend. The members of the Tauranga Town and the Opotiki Highway Boards were duly gazetted on tht 13th instant. Captain Tunks is gazetted an auditor of the Tauranga Highway District, vice Mr Harry Gardiner, resigned ; and Messrs Holier and Downey auditors of the Town Board. Tauraaga, for the present year. "Wh have only space to state that the entertain* ment last night at the District School-house, for the Church of England Parsonage Rent Fund, was very successful. A longer “ notice ” shall appear on Wednesday. We shall take an early opportunity of referring to Inspector Roberts’ annual report, 1873-74, recently published, of the duties performed by the Armed Constabulary Force in the Tauranga district.
