W ELLINGTON, Monday Evening F° use meeting at half past two to-day Mr O Rorke asked leave to make a personal explanation relative to the statement made by the Premier after he left the House on Thursday last. He was informed that Mr "Vogel said that lie was not aware that be (Mr O’Rorke) was going to resign, and Unit ho received no intimation of the course adopted in denouncing the resolutions Horn tuo Ministerial bench, and then retiring from the Ministry. He now appealed to the other members of the Ministry as to the veracity of that statement. Ho distinctly stated at the last Cabinet meeting that if the resolutions were gourn to be passed he would bo compelled to retire from the Ministry. Ho then asked Mr Vogel himself to state to the House whether that wasdho correct version or not. Mr Vogel stated that ho was not aware be (Mr O’Rorko) was going to retire. Ho know ho was opposed to the resolutions,but bo (Mr O’Rorke) had never intimated that ho had the slightest intention of resigning to him (Mr Vomd). Ho (Mr Vogel) was surprised when ho heard him (renounce the resolutions in a most unprecocedcxited manner from the Ministerial benches, lie must have had communication with those that were opposed to the Government, as it appeared m t ho Pvenutp Post about the hour ho was speaking taut ho was to adopt the course ho did.
