Several civil cases are get down for hearing in the Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning. A report of proceedings at the meeting of members of the Church of England held at the Court House, Tauranga, last night, shall appear on Saturday. We have received from the Postmaster General a very well arranged Bijou Mail Time Table—Australia and New Zealand combinedshewing tables for 1874, via San Francisco, Suez, and Torres Straits. The card, which is intended for the waistcoat pocket, is very small and well got up—quite a curiosity and a credit to Mr Didsbury, the Government Printer. We remind the good folks of Opotiki that the annual meeting of the ratepayers in that district will take place on the XBtb instant at the Masonic Hotel, Opotiki, a t 2 o’clock in the after mon. The following tenders invited by the Officer Commanding the District have been accepted ;—■ Forage—Tauranga, Makelu, and Matata, Mr T- Wrigley ; Ditto, Whakatane, Mr G. Simpkins ; ditto, Opotiki, Mr S. Bates. Farriery— Tauranga, Mr J. Salt; ditto, Opotiki, Mr J. Reece. The following notice was posted up in the Telegraph Office, Tauranga, shortly before four o’clock on Saturday afternoon last:—“Auckland, 3.30 p;m., 4th July—Sailed, 5 p.m., 3rd, Southern Cross for Tauranga.’* The steamer referred to left Auckland at half-past five on Saturday, not on Friday as was officially announced. Wehuv cso many tunes pointed out the gross blunders, bosh of omission and commission ot the Customs Officer, whose duty it is to give information regan-r g departure of steamers to the eiegraph Iffi . -..ament, Auckland, that it is becoming slightly monotonous.
