Friday Afternoon. A considerable number of shares in the proposed “Colonial Bank” were taken up here during this week, and it is probable that the number will be largely increased before the list closes on the 10th instant. Applieati ons for shares will be received by the agents at Tauranga and Opotiki up to the ninth of July. The proprietors of the Spring Well Brewery, Tauranga, forwarded per Pretty Jane on Thursday last a large shipment of their ales to the special order of Auckland and Napier Bonifaces.
