A humorous story comes to us about Good I emplary. Once upon a time a certain lecturer, on a certain tour, let us say in America, where, by-the-bye, Good Templary commenced, Introduced to the platform a hale and healthy man, 86 years of age, who had never tasted a glads of spmts or beer in his life. The audience enthusiastically cheered this illustration of the effects of abstinence, but their ardour was damped, when another man equally healthy and youthful-look-ing stepped forward and said, *‘Ladioa and} gentlemen, I am the last example’s brother, and four years his senior. I ken run him, wrestle hI T’T J ? m ,P bim or fifce bim > and he knows it and J, ladies and gentlemen, have not been to bed eober this last forty years/*
