Messrs Sellars and Hansen’s fine new cutter Brunette, recently built to their order by Mr White, Mercury Bay, for the Bay of Plenty trade, arrived in Tauranga waters on Wednesday last, with a full cargo of timber. She came up the harbour at a “ spanking ” rate, and looked re markably well. We have already published the dimensions of the Brunette. She is expressly built for the harbours in the vicinity of Tauranga, and will be a valuable addition to our fleet. The Brunette is com manned by Captain Hansen, who is well and favorably known in the district. She sailed yesterday for Mercury Bay and Auckland. By telegram we learn that the Southern Cross arrived at Auckland at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday. She is due here again to-morrow.
