The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, oaitii God's most lioljr word • The waters hath fish, and landhath dash. And the air hath many a bird j And the soil is teaming o’er all the earth And the earth hath numberless landsYet millions of hands want acres. While millions of acres want hands! Sunlight and breezes and gladsome flowers Are o’er the earth spread wide ; And the good Q-od gave these gifts to mao— X’o men who on earth abide, Yet thousands are toiling in poisonous gloom. And shackled with iron bands. While millions of hands want acres. And millions of acres want hands! lis writ that “ye shall not muzzle the .ox That treadeth out the corn,” But behold ! wo shackle the poor man's limbs That have the earth’s burden borne. The land is the gift of a bounteous God, And the labor hia word com mauds : et millions of hands want acres. And millions of acres wants hands!
