Passenger—Mr and Mrs H H Stevenson, Mr and Mrs S, J Stevenson, Miss Hair, Mr McMillan, Mr Clarke, Mr Kenny, Mr Neal, Mr McDermott, Mr Foster, Constable Starkey, one prisoner, and two in the steerage. The Southern Cross arrived from Auckland after an average trip on Monday morning last at 11 o’clock. She landed several passengers and 80 goats at Mercury Bay. She leaves at 6 this morning for Auckland, and may be expected here again oa Sunday next. The steamer Pretty Jane arrived in harbour at an early hour yesterday morning, and shortly afterwards hauled alongside the steamer Southern Cross, which was berthed at the end of the wharf. We are indebted to OapLin Palmer for the following report of her passage ; —Left Napier on Friday, 20tb, for Gisborne, Cape Runaway, Tauranga, and Auckland ; left Gisborne on the 22nd, at 8 a m, with 750 sheep for Mr Cartwright Brown, at Cape Kunaway ; landed sheep on the 33rd, and arrived here at 3 am on the 24th j had fine southerly wind after leaving Gisborne. The Pretty Jane steamed for Auckland in the afternoon with a number of passengers and 500 sheep.
