Ths Ngatiumra held a largo “ hui ” at Horoltoro 1 -‘"t week, for the purpose of settling the triba disputes bpi Wt'en themselves and the Tuhourongi with re-po tto the ownership of Uorohoro. About 4‘JO Aruwns wtra present. There was an abundance of ** kai ”■—3 bullocks, a rumber of pigs, 400 dried sharks, and potatoes ad lib. After a great deal of “ korero ” an amicable under standing was come to, the Tuhourangi promising not, to molos-t or prevent the Ngatituara srocn occupying Uorohoro for the present. A large meeting will be held in March, 1874, sit Parekarangi, when it is ro be lioped that this much vexed question will bo definitely, settled. The land negotiations of MrO. O. Davis were very strongly animadverted upon, and resole* tiona passed not to have any more dealings with hint. Great, preparations are being made for Mr McLean's visit. Natives from all pirts of the district are gathering at Ohincmutu. It is expected (hat tuo “torero" will be s long one. The now potatoes this year give promise of an extra fine crop ; and the apple, clients, and other fruit trees are bending beneath their loads.
