We called attention a few weeks ago to the disgraceful condition of allotments fronting Willow street pointing out, that, as we have no Board of Health in Tauranga, the Town Board ought to take some steps to remedy the evil. As will be perceived by our report of the proceedings at the last meeting of the town Board, Mr Samuels has moved in the matter, and given notice of motion that be will, at the next Board meeting, propose, as a preliminary step, that the levels of the town be taken. The public at large are indebted to Mr Samuels for the action he has taken, and it is to be hoped the Board will act promptly and decisively in endeavouring to remedy a foul nuisance, which threatens to destroy the health—nay, the very lives of the inhabitants of 1 e Papa.
