Welsh, carefully misinterprets the part of the sermon I objected to. ** One of the Congregation’* considers me “ill advised’* in pablfih&g my upauoo, and suggested a private communication, but be was not in the same position as myself to judge the manner ia which such a oommumention W ° ° been received, “A Resident” teaches me that a nom de plume is bettor to writ© under than a name, as I thereby avoided a share of tho gross personal abuse he launched at Mr Clarke for honestly stating Ms opinions. If Mr Clarke’s letter «as offensive, what can I coll that of “ A Resident ? ,i Sphynx”is heroic, and paddles m deep water. Ho makes assertions without any argument, consequently proving nothing. Taking the letters altogether, I look upon them as personal attacks upon tip previous writers, and not at all calculated to improve the case. last night's ln f, ulcat « d clarity.
