THE RE V. MR JORDAN AND LOCAL EDUCATION.

Sir, —I am grieved that the Rev O. Jordan should have lowered himself in his sermon last night by making a severe attack on the district schools of the province, &c., especially as I am sure your columns would have been open to a controversy properly conducted pro and con secular education, My object now is simply to express my sorrow at the bad taste and ingratitude, to say the deast of it, that should have allowed Mr Jordan deliberately to pen the attack ho made, and that from the floor of the District Schoolhouse, which has been kindly lent for Sunday school and evevaing services free of espouse. In my official connection with the school I must express my regret, and hope that Mr Jordon will apologise to the public for all the offensive expressions made use,—l am, &c..
