to be put in Nomination as a Candidate to represent jour interests in the Town Board, I Imre the honour to state that, after due consideration, I hare accepted the invitation; and should you do me the honour to elect me, you may depend upon my giving every attention to the welfare of the town and the interests of the district at large. If elected, I shall carefully watch all items of expenditure, with a view to keeping down any unnecessary outlay, and being personally interested alike in the improvement and progress both of the centre and outskirts of Tauranga, it will be my interest as well as my duty to see that the Board distributes the expenditure as much as possible for the benefit of the general body of Ratepayers. X shall be glad to become acquainted with your wishes respecting any matters in connection with the Board, and if beneficial to the public at large I will zealously endeavour to carry them out. I am of opinion that the time has arrived when the services of plain, practical men are urgently needed in our local bodies. GENTLEMEN,— I have the honour to inform you that it is my intention to offer myself as a CANDIDATE to REPRESENT your interests at the ensumg Election of the TAU-RANG-A HIGHWAY BOARD.
