Booth and Co. hope to sell something some day, and have stated tho Ist May to bo tho looked for red-letter dav ; a. ?itr D ?^ rOUB^ r memorial leaves next mail for Wellington under the fostering oars of our future “Asmodous ” styles the “patrician candidate (why doesn’t ho drop all that humbug of patrician, blue blood, &c,, and say Edgcumfao ai once) ; tho Town Board is in debt, having relied on getting a certain £IOO, which money h resolved itself info a fancy motion ;Mr Codell aas taken two photographs in tho last six months • Mr Langbridgo walked as far as the butts the other day ; the stripes on Mr Edgeumbe’s shirts are getting broader and broader ; three people and a fowl were seen at one and the same time on the Beach Bead the other day; the.upper nozzle of the town pump is leased ; three licenses to sell blueatono, &c,, were granted at last licensing meeting ; Leahy Brothers have removed to more commodious premises; eggs and butter are not to bo bought for love or money ; all tho roads out of the town are ia splendid order, more especially the one opposite tho wharf; Mr Quick intends starting a tandem up to Botorua—Mr Bodell in the shafts, Mr Langbndge leader.
