The fine steamer Paterson, Captain Kennedy, arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon from Southern ports, bring a quantity of cargo, principally consigned to Mr Wrigley. Übo following is the report of her passage :—The Paterson left Wellington at 630 p.m. on February 28, experiencing strong wind and heavy sea to Napier; owing to the utter impossibility of obtaining coal, had to burn firewood until arrival at that port; sailed again at noon on the sth, steaming with one boiler, and arrived at Poverty Buy at 11 p.m.; sailed at noon on the fitly, and arrived at White Island (where some of the passengers landed) at 6.30 a.m. on the 7th ; sailed again at 8 a.m., and arrived here at 2.30 p.m.
