She was announced to leave as usual on the previous afternoon, but was unavoidably detained in consequence of an injury received at the last moment when leaving the wharf, whereby a “ glan d ” on the high pressure cylinder was broken. We are glad (o learn that the damage is not serious, and will cause no delay in Auckland. Mr Salt, of Taurauga, was employed under the direction of the engineer to make the necessary repairs, which, wo " are informed, were performed in a workmanlike manner. A new twin-screw steamer, says the Southern Cross , was launched on Wednesday morning from the yards of Messrs Sims and Brown, and named the Lily.
