TOWN BOARD.
A MEETING was held on Wednesday, 20th instant. Present—Captains Tunks (chairman), Tovey, and Norris, and Mr Samuels. The tender of Edwin Lea fcr sinking well, &c., as p©r aa vertisnienu ana speeiacacion, WllaJ accepted, provided the public contribute towards same—the sum of £lO (of which Mr McDonald has liberally promised £s,on condition that another £o be collected). Parties desirous of subscribing towards this amount can hand their subscriptions over to the Secretary of the Board, and the work will then be forthwith commenced of the erection of a good substantial patent pump. Captain Sellars having applied to the Board for permission to erect a Good’s shed at the south end of the wharf. The Board granted the request, the shed to be erected under the superintendence of their Engineer, and subject to such rules as they might deem fit. The Secretary was directed to write to tha Provincial Secretary, asking permission on the part of the Provincial Government. Mr Gray’s account was passed for payment. The meeting then adjourned.
