RECENT YEARS COMPARED Commenting on the record value of exports (£74,039,151) during the year ended June 30, 1942, the Abstract of Statistics points out thatthe fact that increased prices are now being received for most exports as compared with prewar years vitiates use total value figures to indicate changes in the physical volume of exports, Comparative index numbers of volume of exports for recent years have now been compiled and are given below, together with index numbers of total value of exports, the base in each case being the year ended June 30. 1939 (equals 100): Value of Volume of Exports.
