Mr. J. C. Fletcher returned from Wellington this morning. Mr. A. E. Robinson, secretary of the Auckland Farmers' Union returned from the south to-day. Mr. G. E. Breeze, chief surveyor of ships, and chairman of the shipbuilding committee, is visiting Auckland. Mr. Joseph Patrick McMahon-Box Judge of the High Court of the Cook Islands, and Collector of Customs ana Postmaster of Niue since last April, has been gazetted Resident Commissioner of Niue. The Rt. Rev. W. J. Simkin, Anglican Bishop of Auckland, left for Whangarei to-day to conduct the funeral service of the late Ven. H T Steele, Archdeacon of Waimate and vicar of Whangarei, who died last night in the Whangarei Hospital.
