OFFICERS MISSING

Two of three officers decorated at an investiture in Egypt a few months ago are now missing, and both are thought to be prisoners of war Thev are Captain C. H. Upham. V.C.. of Christchurch, and Lieutenant-Col-onel R. J. Lynch, M.C., son of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Lynch. Heme Bav, whose wife lives in Third Avenue \V hangarei. Brigadier H. K. Kippenberger, D.5.0., of Rangiora, the third officer decorated, remains in the field Recently the parents of these three officers were entertained in the State Theatre, Christchurch, when a news-reel of the investiture was screened. The audience burst into a spontaneous and prolonged storm of applause when informed that the parents of the three distinguished officers were present.
