ARMED MERCHANT SHIPS
British Official Wireless Rec. 2 p.m. RUGBY, July 29. The protection of merchant ships was the subject of a House of Commons question. The Financial Secretary to the Admiralty replied that all ships were provided with defensive weapons against air attack, with special provision for the protection of personnel. Priority was given to vessels sailing in the most dangerous Waters.
