CONSTABLE CHARGED
REMAND TO AUCKLAND ALLEGED MURDER ATTEMPT (0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. Appearing on remand from Kaitaia, Herbert Hunter Barrett, police constable, charged with the attempted murder on July 20 of Mate Soko Urlich, of Lake Ohia, was to-day further remanded by Mr. Raymond Ferner, S.M., in the Whangarei Police Court, to appear in Auckland on August 10.
The application for the remand was made by Detective-Sergeant Finlay and consented to by Mr. D. J. Thomson, representing Barrett, instructed by Mr. J. B. Reynolds, of Kaitaia.
