CANADIAN FISHING BOAT
SHELLED AND SI N K BY U-BOAT
Rec. 11.30 a.m. OTTAWA. July *7.
It is reported at an eastern Canadian port that the Canadian fishing schooner Lucille M, of 30 tons, was shelled and sunk by a submarine 100 miles from the coast of Nova Scotia. Eleven of the crew reached port safely. It was the first Canadian fishing craft sunk in the war.
