AUSTRALIA ASSISTS

* EQUIPPING U.S. TROOPS Special Australian Correspondent Rec. 9.30 a.m. SYDNEY, this day. Australia is spending many millions of pounds yearly clothing, feeding and supplying the United States Forces in the Commonwealth. This form of "reverse Lease-Lend" has been revealed by the Minister of Supply, Mr. J. Beasley, commenting on a Washington announcement that Australian co-operation had enabled Amercian shipping to concentrate on the transport of munitions instead of food and other supplies.

"We are adding each day to the list of foods and clothing services we are providing for the Allied forces in Australia," said Mr. Beasley. "It gives us intense pleasure to do this, as some measure of our gratitude."
