Matamata Trainers Have Promising Juveniles
(Special to Star.) MATAMATA. this day. Two well-performed mares, Kile-ash and Duvach, have finished their racing carcsrs and are in the matrons' paddock. Duvach will visit the English Derby winner. Coronach, while Kilcash will go to the Irish-bred horse, Douglas Hyde. J. W. Cathro has brought Old Pal in again after a brief spell. Old Pal has furnished well, aßd should be ready for spring racing. Prospects are that there will be a record number of two-year-olds from Matamata stables racing in the coming season. A number of these are fashionably bred, and should be ready for early racing. Among those in work under the respective trainers are:— H. H. Martin.—Colt by Vaals —Lady Zinnia, filly by Mr. Standfast—Hilmar, colt by Ninth Duke—Starma. colt by Mr. Standfast—Exaggeration, filly by Phaleron Bay—Merry Miss. S. J. Brindle.—Filly by Autopay—Lady Pavlova. A. McArthur.—Colt by Mr. Standfast — Waihinerahi. colt by Musketoon. J. W. Cathro. —Filly by Solicitor-General —Kotou, filly by Foxbridge—Princess Rewa, colt by Lang Bian—Silver Gain, colt by Lang Bian—Cyclax, filly by Man's Pal—Battle Flag. R. J. Mateer.-—Colt by Vaals—Express.
