GIRLS' WAR EFFORT
At the annual meeting held this week at the Red Cross Rooms in Commerce Street, it was reported that 79 Auckland schools are now contributing gifts regularly to Red Cross through the Auckland Primary School Girls' War Association.
The grand total of primary school gifts to Red Cross during 1940-42, is 30,550. In addition many hundreds of knitted garments have been made from wool supplied by the Patriotic Association. The committee of women teachers was re-elected with Miss F. J. Taylor as convener and Miss I. B. Kidd as hon. sec.
