Investigation Into Aleutians
Situation
Rec. noon. WASHINGTON, July 23. miT/ll Senate Military Affairs Committee has appointed a special subrhanHw 6 ' of Senators Chandler Wallgren, Holman and Kilgore, to investigate the defences of Alaska and the Aleutians. The committee will leave for Alaska soon with a view to clearing up several questions, including how the Japanese managed to seize Attu Kiska and Agattu. They are also to investigate the possibilities of expelling the invaders and inquire into the safety of the West Coast from invasion.
