PENSION PAY DAYS

The letter of your correspondent, Mr. H. Woodruffe. deserves further consideration. I fully endorse the suggestion for fortnightly payments, as it woulrl unquestionably help to alleviate many of the hardships experienced by those in receipt of the old-age pension. I suggest payment by voucher, the same as soldiers' wives. This would do away with the sorry spectacle which can he seen month after month in a long r< \v of aged people, anxiously waiting in all sorts of weather for the payment of their pension. " h.H.
