Rec. noon. CANBERRA, this day. The Commonwealth Government has taken over complete control of all road transport in Australia, including horse vehicles. Its object is to ensure that all available transport is fully mobilised to carry war goods and vital foodstuffs for soldiers and civilians and to transport men. The Director-General of Transport, Sir Harold Clapp, can direct owners Ito use vehicles as specified or pool them to create one service. He can order them to pick up and deliver to a specified place any class of goods or to transport people.
