INCREASED ACTIVITY Although turnover tapered off at the second call, business was brisker on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day, mostly at late values. Banks and insurances had a firmer tone, with Banks of New Zealand sought at £1 IS'3 after dealing for over a month at £1 IS'. Industrials were in good demand.
