CLOTHES RATIONING
EXTENSION OP SCOPE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sunday. Steps taken to extend the scope of the clothing rationing scheme to include the needs of consumers not already provided for are announced by the Minister of Supply, Mr. Sullivan. Provision is made for commercial consumers, such as poultry farmers, tobacco growers, bookbinders, factories and all others who require rationed cloth in their operations, also for small manufacturers, such as tailors, etc. Charitable organisations engaged in the making of clothes may obtain permits for materials, provided garments made are given away and not sold. Provision is also made for collective consumers, such as hotels, orphanages, hospitals, etc., for towels for offices, and for losses by fire and theft.
