SUPERVISION OF PICTURES

The general public was not aware of the supervision exercised over motion pictures in wartime, said Mr. P. W. Maddock to the Wellington Rotary Club. Not long ago a clever picture entitled "Idiot's Delight," starring Norma Shearer and Clark Gable, came to New Zealand, but as it was a preachment against war the authorities considered that, as things were, it had better not be exhibited.
