VEGETABLE SHORTAGE
There will be a great shortage of all kinds of vegetables this spring, and prices will be up to the skies unless householders, both men and women, are prepared to grow a good deal of their requirements. Kven a quarter-acre of land and allowing room for house, etc., each householder should be able to grow SO per cent of his vegetable requirements, provided he is prepared to put in four hours a week pardoning. One packet planted a week of some vegetable seed, if spread over the whole year, will provide the average household with an abundant supply of good quality vegetables as well as give the grower one of the most interesting occupations in the world. Wake up now. you workers, and start a garden and you will help in keeping prices down and also minimise the shortage when it comes. " J.M.
