RECORD BANK DEPOSITS
LONDON. July 17. The chairman. Lord Balfour of Burleigh speaking at the annual meeting of the National Bank of New Zealand, said that deposits at £16.863 000 were a record In the bank s history, while there were big increases in cash investments and Treasury bills. Advances had decreased by £840 000 An increase of £1000 in the pensions and gratuitv funds had dbeen due to the establishment of a contributory pension fund for women emplovee*; The sum of £ 10.000 had been allocated to contingency accounts.
