Rec. 1 p.m. NEW YORK. July 17. Australian Government stocks regained favour this week. To-day new gains were registered, the chief of which was Brisbane 6 per cents. 1950. up 23 points. Commonwealth 4£ per cents. 1956. during the week climbed from 58U to 61. and Commonwealth 5 per cents 1957 from 62'b to 65. New South Wales 5 per cents 1957 maintained their leadership at 71 la.
